Lawsuit Filed by Medical Student For Denial of Accommodations on USMLE

Law Office of Charles Weiner filed suit against National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) for denying a medical student with disabilities accommodations on the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE). The student furnished documentation detailing a lengthy history of impairment and accommodations through out school and in spite of this, the NBME denied the student’s request for accommodations. The suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas alleges that the NBME violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and discriminated against the student.

Lawsuit Filed Against NBOME For Denial of Accommodations

Law Office of Charles Weiner filed suit against NBOME for denying a medical student with disabilities accommodations on the COMLEX medical licensing exam. The student furnished documentation detailing a lengthy history of impairment and accommodations throughout school and in spite of this, the NBOME denied the student’s request for accommodations. The suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania alleges that the NBOME violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and discriminated against the student.

Charles Weiner Appointed to Second Term

Charles Weiner has been appointed to a second term as a Commissioner on the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Commission on Disability Rights. The Commission carries out an array of projects and activities addressing disability related public policy, disability law and the professional needs of lawyers and law students with disabilities.  Charles Weiner will commence his second term following the ABA Annual meeting in August 2015.
